Geoffrey M. Kasselman serves as an executive managing director in Newmark Knight Frank's Chicago office, where he leads the company's North American Industrial Practice. In this capacity, he guides the direction and expansion of the firm's industrial brokerage capabilities across North America, including supporting various data center projects and promoting the benefits of sustainability, technology and innovation for the sector. Throughout the course of his distinguished career, Mr. Kasselman has represented a variety of space users and owners both locally and nationwide. Currently, he focuses on providing strategic solutions such as deal restructuring, portfolio analyses and operational and energy efficiency. Utilizing a creative approach, Mr. Kasselman has gained a wealth of expertise and experience, completing sale-leasebacks, controlled sales, 1031 Exchanges, numerous build-to-suits and municipal assisted financings, as well as other traditional consulting assignments, and deal structures.

Prior to joining NKF in 2014, Mr. Kasselman served as the founder and CEO of Op2mize, a commercial real estate firm that bundled real estate services with best practices in energy efficiency and technology. He previously worked at Studley, founding its Industrial Services Group and helping to launch its Governmental Incentives consulting practice. Mr. Kasselman began his career at Insignia/FC&S, leaving as a senior executive after 10 years.

Among other professional credentials, Mr. Kasselman holds the SIOR and LEED AP designations and was recently elected as the SIOR president-elect, to serve as president beginning in the fall of 2016. During a career spanning more than 28 years, he has completed more than 1,000 projects with an aggregate value of over $1 billion and has received numerous industry awards and distinctions from organizations such as the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Association of Realtors, Illinois Real Estate Journal, NAIOP, Realcomm and SIOR. Mr. Kasselman is also an accomplished author and nationally recognized public speaker on a range of topics at the intersection of corporate real estate and technology.

Mr. Kasselman's clients have included prominent users such as Charles Schwab, Cardinal Health, DHL, Marriott, PepsiAmericas, Rheem and Tootsie Roll, and institutional owners such as CenterPoint Properties, Digital Realty, IDI, Liberty Property Trust, New York Life Insurance, Overseas Capital Corp., Principal Life Insurance, Prologis, UBS Asset Management and UPS Properties, among many others.
