Everyone uses social media these days. It’s basically a requirement for business to have active accounts across all the major platforms. However, your company is still looking for ways to make your overall presence on social media stand out from the rest. Que Snapchat.

Snapchat is a mobile app. You can send public or private snaps of images and video to people from your smartphone. There are more than 100 million active users on Snapchat every single day. And the demographic is HUGE--86 percent of Snapchat’s users fall into the 13-37 age range.

Snapchat not one of the big three (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), but that doesn’t mean there isn’t potential waiting for your business. Set Up Your Account

The first thing you need to do is download the app and set up an account for your business. Chose a 15-character username that people will be able to search easily. It should be simple and directly relate to your business. Configure your privacy settings for who can send you snaps and view your story. Start off publicaly to grow a following of clients. If your business begins to receive vulgar or inappropriate, you may want to filter your followers later.

Add Friends For Inspiration

If you’re new to Snapchat, you’ll want to add friends for inspiration. That should include everyone in the company. Add past clients, local businesses, and other real estate agents. You can also search for Snapchat users through your Facebook page. Speaking of Facebook, use other social media accounts to promote your new account.

Story and Analytics

When you send a snap, it is delivered almost immediately. You have no option to edit it. These snaps can be viewed for ten seconds before they disappear.

But when you do add a photo or video to your story, you do have a few options. Each photo or video you add will expire--aka disappear--after 24 hours. The amount of time your friends have to review the story is measured by the fullness of the circle. Tap on the dots to the right of your story . This is where you will find your story analytics. You have the option to download any part of the story before it expires.
