Pinterest isn’t a platform that most CRE professionals instantly think about when they’re deciding where to promote their firm or services online. Usually it’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram but don’t let this social media giant out of your sight. Because it’s actually a powerful search engine.
Pinterest can be a valuable platform for increasing traffic to your blog, showcasing your properties, or building your e-mail list. But how do you get started with this platform if you’re a total newbie?
Design your profile around your audience.
Just like we’ve told you in the past that so much of your marketing efforts come back to identifying your target audience and speaking directly to them, Pinterest is absolutely no different. To attract the right audience to your CRE company’s Pinterest profile, you need to design it with your target clients in mind.
Make sure you have a bio that explains what your company does. Include your logo on your page. Use the right keywords, like commercial real estate, in your profile name. Make it easy for your clients to find you. And in your profile you should tell them exactly how you plan to help them.
Focus on optimizing your Pinterest page like you would your website.
In its design, Pinterest is actually not really a social media platform. It’s a search engine. It’s a place for people to search for pins, and save the content that is relevant to them and their needs. And because Pinterest wants its users to easily find the content they’re looking for, they will prioritize the best content like Google does.
This includes paying attention to your Pinterest content just like you would your website content as it relates to SEO. Make sure you have the right keywords. Be sure your photo represents the content. Include captivating copy.
Just like Google rewards active websites from an SEO perspective, Pinterest will continually prioritize content from really active users. Especially if your content proves to be beneficial for their audience – as in, your pins have lots of engagement.
The best way to use Pinterest so that you drive serious engagement with your audience is to stay active and post pins that you know provide serious value for your followers. You can also request to post to the boards of others that have more followers and engagement.
Pinterest is an easy and fun way to showcase your CRE company in a different light, and to drive engagement with your target audience. With a little strategy and effort you’ll be well on your way to using Pinterest as an important marketing stream in no time.
