Highlighting Diversity in CRE: Honoring Black History Month
Diversity is something important to our team at The Content Funnel. Our executive team has often discussed ways we can push inclusivity across the spectrum. This blog is one part of that effort.
In honor of Black History Month, we partnered with REAP (The Real Estate Associate Program) to highlight some of the incredible professionals bringing fresh perspectives to the commercial real estate industry. REAP is an industry-backed, market-driven program that empowers talented minority commercial real estate professionals to rise to the top of their field. Its recruiting process is competitive, and many successful companies turn to REAP to find top talent in their field. Over 1,000 persons seeking a career in commercial real estate have graduated REAP programs. Many graduates have been placed in leading firms across the world.
We partnered with REAP to list honorees last year. Again for 2019, we would like to bring focus to minority professionals making big waves in CRE. The honorees are:
Shmel Graham (REAP Los Angeles ’11 & REAP Board Member)

Shmel C. Graham is an associate in the Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Practice Group in the firm's Los Angeles office. Ms. Graham has been a featured speaker on driving innovation in operations in local government, best practices for leveraging public-private partnerships as well as optimizing publicly owned land to support civic and economic development initiatives. Ms. Henson’s extensive experience includes work with community development organizations (CDCs, Chambers of Commerce) to offer BID/SSA management, technical assistance in business operations, access to capital and technology utilization.
